Welcome to Brown’s livestock transport, a family owned and operated business located on the border of NSW and Victoria. At Brown’s we understand the importance of handling livestock, that’s why we operate under Truckcare and train all our drivers. We also operate under NHVAS Maintenance Management and BFM, all this, so you as the customer can have peace of mind knowing that your livestock are with a professional livestock operator.
Whether it is ex the paddock, saleyard or feedlot, you can be assured that Brown’s we ensure prompt and professional service to every customer.
With long distance cartage of livestock, Brown’s Livestock transport is able to arrange resting locations for livestock and our drivers. This is just all part of the service that you expect from a professional livestock operator, such as Brown’s Livestock Transport.


Equipment:


Brown’s Livestock Transport operates modern Kenworth Trucks, set up with visesa coolers to help combat driver fatigue. We also operate a non- bruise B- Double cattle crate and a 4x2 B- Double convertible trailer. Both our trailers operate on air bag suspension. Our convertible trailer also has the ability to remove the centre posts to enable long penning of cattle; thus making it more user friendly.
Brown’s livestock transport also has a road train option. Please call to discuss this option.


Quality Assurance


Stock Loss Policy- brown’s livestock transport operate a Carriers Goods in Transit Policy insuring the load of livestock up to $100,000 for protection against fire, flood and rollover. Under our policy your livestock are also protected against theft and at loading and unloading. With this extra cover you can be assured that you are entrusting a professional company to care for your stock in transit.


Truckcare


TruckCare is the Livestock Transporter Industry’s independently-audited quality assurance  program. The program is built around the quality assurance principles contained in international standards and also uses hazard analysis of critical control points. TruckCare is designed to integrate with other quality programs including CattleCare, FlockCare, National Saleyard Quality Assurance and TruckSafe. Brown’s livestock transport are committed to ensuring that livestock are handled with the utmost care and professionalism. We are also committed to ensuring that the transport of livestock is carried out by our trained drivers.
NHVAS - Maintenance ManagementBrown’s livestock transport operates under the NHVAS – Maintenance management program. All equipment is maintained under our vehicle maintenance system. This program is audited every two years. NHVAS – Basic Fatigue ManagementOperating under Basic Fatigue Management enables our drivers to work a maxium14 hour day if needed. All our drivers are trained before they are able to work under the BFM. This gives you a piece of mind knowing that our drivers and Brown’s Livestock transport are both trained to better understand the signs of fatigue.

 

Driver Training


At Brown’s all our drivers are trained and inducted into our company as per our policies and procedures manual. We also continue to train our drivers with on the job training. As well as being inducted into our company, our drivers are required to sit a medical test as part of the fatigue management program. Medicals are conducted bi-annually, and yearly after the age of 49.
